Dining, Shopping & Entertainment

For New American culinary delights in a modern, sophisticated atmosphere, head to the women-led Prospect. It’s show-stopping food and exceptional service continually draw in customers and keep them coming back for more. EPIC Steak is a South Beach favorite, thanks to its cozy environment, waterfront dining, and delicious plates. If you’re in the mood for something a little more hip and buzzy, La Mar is bayfront dining with arguably the best ceviche in town. Cuisine is authentically Peruvian so if you’re craving a tasty lunch with a bay view, this is your spot.

There’s no better place to shop for fresh produce, specialty cheese, and hand-crafted candy than the Ferry Building, an 1898 marvel that’s since been restored. It’s home to the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, where every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, you can get fresh organic produce and seafood while supporting local vendors. Jackson Street offers high-end shopping for francophiles and the Embarcadero Center offers several local brands.

Things to Do

Nestled in the middle of South Beach, South Park is a small urban center that has terrific cafes and a small, oval-shaped park to wander through. The Yerba Buena Gardens is another urban park to enjoy, where you’ll find marvelous art pieces and a waterfall memorial. There’s also the beautiful South Park Beach, where you can find a grassy spot to sit and watch the boats come in and out of the harbor. If you’re looking for a space for your furry friend to run, Brannan Street Wharf Park has tons of green space and gorgeous views. It’s also a great place to meet other dog owners.

You won’t get the full experience of South Beach without visiting Oracle Park to cheer on the San Francisco Giants. It’s a beautiful venue to cheer on your favorite teams, watch one of many shows, and get your fill of stadium food and beer. The Exploratorium is a family-friendly museum where you’ll put your science test to the knowledge with interactive exhibits.
